Putting Community back into Community Theatre
We believe that community theatre is America’s theatre. For a variety of reasons, community theatre thrives in this nation like nowhere else in the world. Seeing the positive impact that it can have on youth, seniors, area businesses, and a community’s identity is a humbling but energizing experience.
A Tradition since 1991
Capital City Productions began as Capital City Players in 1991. Founded by Rob Crouse the first production was “Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” performed at the Truman Hotel. In January 2007, we moved into our current facility, where we continue to grow. To reflect our growth Capital City Players changed its name to Capital City Productions.
Working with Local Youth
In 2018 we partnered with Blair Oaks High School and let them use CCP’s theatre for their school play. This allowed the students the experience of performing in a working theatre and learning how to operate our light and sound equipment. It was a great experience for both of us!
Our Pay It Forward Program
Since 2016 we have given more than $48,00 in donations of funds, food, goods and services to more than 30 local non-profit organizations.
Our Achievements
We’ve grown a lot over the past 27 years. Plus we continue to make improvements. From an increase in season ticket holders, to new LED lighting throughout the theatre, to raising funds and awareness for other 501(c)3 organizaitons. We love our theatre and our community!
